2007 — 22 August: and so to Cycle #3

Christa has told me what to say here. She said (and I'm quoting directly, using Her finest black German sense of humour): "What a pity I didn't extend my life insurance last year when the insurance company gave me the option to do so."

As the consultant said, it's not a rosy picture! The tumours have not grown, but nor do they seem to have shrunk, which is "disappointing".1 But at least we can do something — rather a lot, in fact — about the pain. And that's be a lot more generous with the morphine. And after this third cycle of Chemo (which, thanks to Her improved kidney function, will be some 14% "stronger" than before) we'll switch to two weeks of radio-therapy. After that, a CT scan to see the lie of the land.

1  I actually had in mind a somewhat more potent adjective, but I'd probably spell it wrong in my present (tired) frame of mind and I have better uses for my energy right now than raw invective.
