2006 — Day 55 - mid-Winter, ain't it grand?

We two kings

Just caught up with the two, excellent, documentaries on Edward VIII and George VI. What an odd beast the Establishment is, to be sure. Shod in Doc Martens, and ever ready to deliver a kicking to whomsoever is deemed "not one of us" no matter the silvery nature of the spoon in their mouth. Meanwhile, the reliable Doc Martin is busily popping itself onto a silver platter, to be followed by Ricky Gervais and Garry Shandling, which was an amusingly-strained interview. Comedians are never funny when they analyse themselves, but they are almost invariably interesting.
