2012 — 14 March: Wednesday

The news1 makes an appalling start to the day.

It's 07:44 and there's a little local loop walk in my short-term future. Should give the day time to brighten up first, though. [Pause] Well, discounting numerous lumps of Microsoft security fixing goodness, there's not been much to brighten the day so far. It's 08:57 and rather chilly out there.

Ringing in the ears?

Or an aural nematode, perhaps...

Back again

Lunched, laundered, and about to relax for a bit. I'm good at that. It's still chilly out, though is now a lot brighter. We were joined on our little six-mile ramble by Brian, who's been battling a ghastly virus for over four weeks. He promised he wasn't infectious...

Mike passed along a set of photos from Monday's walk. When I took this one, it was because it reminded me of the final Robert Crumb panel of "Stoned Agin" that you can see if you click the pic:

Stoned Agin (panel #6)

As soon as I saw the tree roots I simply stopped and said "Wow". Mike was already handing me his Nikon as he's learned to accept my little brainstorms. It must be the way my brain works, I guess. I hope I don't need to add that I've never taken a psychedelic drug in my life, and I suspect I never will.
