2006 — Day 47 - After 09:00 — am I too late?
Now this is a far more civilised time to start typing. The overnight email (including an only slightly misguided whinge from Junior about my non-superfluity of CSS files) has been browsed, and responded to. The item about Java on CICS under z/OS forwarded to "Twink(letoes)" to do with as he sees fit. The NZ weather report (in full superfluity of detail) available for teasing Big Bro with. A copy of Hogfather now nestling in the input hopper — much obliged, Len! Disk 7 of Boston Legal #2 assessed and not found wanting, thank goodness. Only flickr remains currently unsorted out.
Plus breakfasted and Guardianed, of course. And the germs are in retreat (I hope) though it looks like it's now the distaff side's turn.
Did I happen to mention...
how much I hate rhinoviruses? I'm not too enamoured of the smell of Vicks inhalant, come to that. It's been suggested that, with the best of modern medical intervention, the average cold can be knocked decisively on the head in about seven days whereas, of course, if you just ignore it, it goes away of its own accord in about a week. But it's a grand, sunny day. Perfect for the final minor re-jig of the A/V system for this year.
And for yet another try at tidying up the "Back/Next" navigation between individual diary pages such as this one. I'm not very amused to note that IE7 font size changes do not break these new "buttons" whereas they do still break my main page navigation tabs. Since the basic method is tantamount to identical, this is starting to annoy me. Tip of the hat, by the way, to the writers of "WildEdit" without whom, etc. etc. An admirable product that does what it says on the tin — not that it came in one.
That's it for today, folks
My friend Cathy designated me a friend of hers, so that sorted out our mutual friend flickr. We (She who must be adored, and I) started Hogfather, which looks most promising, but is not really "her" cup of tea, so I shall put it aside to watch with Junior when festive conversation palls. So, after a comfort episode from Boston Legal #1 the "non-drowsy" cough mixture is now kicking in, and I'm off for my beauty sleep. You can't deny I need it.
