2016 — 29 June: Wednesday

Another early start to make the most of the weather for the brickwork repointing. And, possibly, reinforcements tomorrow, too. Fingers crossed.

Now, dare I even look at the web's news headlines? Or should I emulate the supposed behaviour of the ostrich?

I'm fully aware...

... that one should fix the problem rather than the blame. But when the problem (or, it seems possible, a large portion of it) is contained within the oaf that is BoJo it's awfully tempting to quote the occasional handful of mud being flung in his general direction:

Boris Johnson's career is founded on a Paddington myth — the creature of kindly intent whose bumbling charm excuses chaotic misadventure. But there is nothing cuddly about voracity for power, allergy to responsibility and infidelity to any cause besides personal advancement. Yet that is the constellation of traits that forms the former London mayor's character, exerting such narcissistic gravity that no passing truth escapes unbent.

It seems...

... Mr Hendy — quite which1 one, I'm unsure — is now itching to get his hands on my little Mazda as it approaches its first birthday. He considers it "his duty to keep my vehicle in great shape". Good to know. I will have clocked up about 3,500 miles during this year. I'm clearly not spending enough time at the beach. [Pause] Repointing work halted for the day with the arrival of the late morning rain. Can't be helped. It had already put paid to the prospect of a walk. While I wouldn't say it was cold, I note the central heating has been firing up from time to time.

Google...

... keeps track (according to "My Activity", at least) of the scandalous stuff I've watched on YouTube, as far back as January 2014. Typical shocking example:

:-)

I'm pleased...

... to learn that Linux Mint 18 is just about ready to join the party. Excellent news.

Nearly all rain and no sun makes for a very dull day.
