It's actually below 20C here at the moment.1 This early on a Bank Holiday morning, heh? Well, I've just dallied with a pair of online banks, topping up dear Mama's account for the next lump of care-home goodness and (for a change) allowing her to help me with some motoring costs for the last six months. And then making sure that another gang has yet to run away with a pittance I store under their bed. No glitches with either (the Register had a story about severe problems with the online service at Barclays a few days ago so I deliberately stayed away for a while).
I tend to agree with Yossarian: I find it hard to believe in the infinite wisdom and kindliness of a God who found it necessary to invent phlegm. But I seem to be heading in the direction of a minor-league cold. Aren't rhinoviruses just wonderful? Grrr.
This amused me. Not that I'm even the least bit cynical. But I can relate to their supposed web-site design process. Not that I've ever sat in such meetings. Perish the thought.
I'm capricious...
... because, while I'm listening to "Sketches of Spain" I generally regard it as the finest album Miles Davis did. But then I listen to "Kind of Blue" and my opinion oscillates. It's odd to think that my Dad (a great jazz fan) always regarded Miles as just too 'modern' — which, when you think "The Birth of the Cool" was recorded a couple of years before I was even born, only makes me feel really, really old :-)
Solved!
When in doubt, RTFM. You never know what upgraded firmware will get up to otherwise:
Three other common components that benefit are my Panasonic Blu-ray player, Humax Freesat PVR, and Netgear media streamer. Just throwin' that in.
Having now watched the first four episodes of "The Mentalist" I pronounce myself pleased with it. (Just as well, as I have the first three season boxed sets.)
