2012 — 27 April: Friday

At the risk of being dead boring1 I have to admit I don't see the appeal of necrophilia. Let alone the point of making it legal:

Egyptian madness

Still, I won't worry until it becomes mandatory...

Given the lousy weather this week, I was thinking of rescinding my decision to retire my crockpot for the "summer". However, I've just noticed that it's raining, so my supplies trip will have to wait. It's 08:15 and the clouds are scudding past fast.

I suppose...

... if I knew why my Internet connection quietly and unfussily drops for a few minutes every once in a while (not even once a month, usually) I might actually be able to do something about it. Or, at least, complain meaningfully. As it is, a power cycle on the router thingy generally does the trick. When I notice, that is.

Speaking of not noticing, Len told me over lunch that (apparently) we had a downpour this morning. There were certainly a few big-league puddles on the way back from Romsey. Currently (17:21) the sun is shining out of a largely blue sky with a few bits of cotton wool in it. And I enjoyed listening to Robert Redford on the Kermode and Mayo film programme.

My Internet connection is still cutting out, and I noticed earlier that the download speed of a BBC podcast was pretty low, too. Very irritating. Wrong kind of rain on the phone line, perhaps? [Pause] Since it's nearly midnight and the connection has dropped yet again I shall call it a day.
