Reading the gist of the "arguments" ...

Bishops

... put forward by the Bishop of Hereford1 why do I find myself concluding that his theological college courses as a fresh-faced young lad setting out on his path of righteous (some might say "relentless") do-goodery must have contained high levels of exposure to the toxic brand of pseudo-logic deployed so often (and successfully) by Sir Humphrey Appleby against Jim Hacker?

Book

In happier news this morning, I was pleased to receive a 65p refund all the way from the US of A for that "Being Elmo" DVD — though there's been no sign, yet, of the actual DVD (which may yet attract import duty and the insane £8 charge by the rogues in Brenda's gang of thieves [also known as the Royal Mail] for collection of same). And today's walk (Exbury) will, I'm sure, be awash2 with rhododendrons.

Time for my next cuppa. [Pause] Brrr. It's a rather chilling +3C out there and, at 08:40, no trace of the sun.

I would have...

... left a comment, as I'm always interested in fonts and PNGs, but...

PNGs and fonts

... I wasn't sure I could pass the Turing test. [Pause] I'm pleased to learn I've passed Uncle ERNIE's test this month, however. To the tune of £50, which always comes in handy. It's actually still slightly more than one full tank of petrol, too.

Right. I await my chariot. It's 10:26 and still rather cool out there.

Dark clouds on our...

... return from the (sunny) coast, at the edge of Lepe park (last visited with Christa, Big Bro, and niece #1 five years ago).

Christa, Mich and Big Bro

And now the delicious "Symphony in three movements" by Stravinsky, laundry, and a fresh cuppa. Could it get any better?

Clang!

Given the plentiful fluffy white clouds on display down at the coast, and the way my content-associative memory 'works', I happened to ask Mike if he knew the music of The Orb3. Apparently not. And I now know he doesn't care for Kraftwerk either, but that's another story. Anyhowsoever, having enjoyed a burst of 'Massive Attack', I moved on to The Orb, and then thought to myself What about that (relatively) recent CD of theirs? The one with guitarist David Gilmour?

Was it in my MP3 library? Well, erm, no. It wasn't. Fine. Then where the hell is it? I still recall scanning its artwork (visible here). Could it possibly have sneaked its way into one of my CaseLogic folders without me ripping it first? (Blush.) Yep. Quite possibly because on the day it was delivered I hadn't yet re-installed my CD ripping software on to my then-new BlackBeast system.

Rectified, and I'm now listening to it.

Why doesn't "canary" rhyme with "granary"?!

Footnotes

1  He (I assume he is male) was defending the unfortunate fact that the parliamentary Joint Committee of reform of the House of Lords is going to recommend that automatic places for Bishops remain in a reformed chamber. How frightfully democratic.
2  Not to mention "rain, sleet, and hill snow" if the forecast delivered by the lady on BBC Radio 3 just after 07:00 can be trusted.
3  I was thinking of the track "Little fluffy clouds" from the "Adventures beyond the Ultraworld" double CD, lest you wonder.
