2012 — 1 April: Sunday — and rabbits, too

All other things being equal1 we're going for a little local hop around Compton that may even yield a lunchtime pint. Gotta save petrol, after all. But first, gotta get some sleep. G'night.

While I concede...

... the sky is definitely blue, and largely cloud-free, this morning the current reading on my porch thermometer (not quite +1C) and the frosty appearance of various neighbours' cars is saying "No shorts today, David".

I suspect...

... agnostics need not apply:

Top jobs

But then, I wouldn't be seen dead in the fancy dress these tribal chieftains have to wear :-)

I suppose it's too much to hope that it's an April Fool's day joke? [Pause] Right, time to prep a packed lunch and break out the winter woollies. I have several miles to go before I sleep (to purloin a [Robert] Frosty phrase).

And back, seven or so miles (and a pint) later after a very pleasant sunny stroll out from Winklechestershire and returning along the Itchen Navigation. It's currently (14:49) still sunny, and a whole 10C 'hotter' than earlier. Just how I like it.

Call me an old cynic...

... but (as with the doubtless reverend gents and their invisible friend above — pun unintentional) this, too, sounded awfully like an April Fool story. Where but in L.A., I wonder, would 340 tons of granite constitute 'art'? (Link.)
