2012 — 3 March: Saturday

The song1 is cheerfully optimistic, but not (so far) accurate, this morning. "Mild, grey, cloud cover" would be nearer the mark.

If the Working Group...

... is satisfied, then why should I worry?

Besides, by 2040 perhaps the UK will have its own version of Dutch mobile euthanasia units? (Link.)

Given the rain that's now (09:09) added itself to the morning mixture, today's outdoor fixture has been called off by mutual agreement. I shall turn my attention to my next crockpot. [Pause] Enlivened by excellent anecdotage from Terence Stamp.

Speaking of being satisfied, now that the crockpot has commenced its thermal journey I can contemplate weightier matters, of which this is but one sixth:

Problem?

Of course, now it's stopped raining and the sun is mocking our indoor cowardice. Typical.

It's surprising...

... quite how long a thorough data backup exercise can take. Less surprising (I suppose) is the amount of crud that can simply be junked. And to think I used to think a 20MB hard drive was an elegant sufficiency...

And, on the 'surprising' front: who the hell knew that Lou Reed's "A Perfect Day" would provoke a sudden flood of tears? Not me; that's for sure. Ho-hum. Time to delve into what now smells like a delicious hot crockpot to see what I can find. [Pause] Mega-yum. Right, time to chill down the rest for another meal or two. How did it become 20:51 already?

"The Rocket Post" is also an intriguing little movie.
