2011 — 10 November: Thursday

And so I finally complete the fourth year since Christa's death.1 The morning is reasonably bright, the initial cuppa is brewing, I have both breakfast and a packed lunch to prep and a walk to look forward to. Leaving aside an annoying (and doubtless HDCP-related) lockup last night when switching from CD to DVD, the music remains great.

Ever onward :-)

Guess which clever-clogs...

... on spotting the "40" limit on the motorway entrance cunningly swung round to take the more picturesque route back through Otterbourne, only to discover that the road was closed after Poles Lane and who therefore ended up driving home via Hursley? Swings and roundabouts, indeed.

The rain held off until we were almost back at the car. Had we not stopped for our picnic lunch watching the ducks and swans we wouldn't have got wet at all. 'Twas ever thus. Ever onward :-)

Something else to look forward to: my first appointment with my new lady dentist (named "Ish", by her choice) is at 09:00 on 3rd January. I can wait.

There's something...

... oddly satisfying about cleaning bits of a washing machine, particularly when there's no sign of the user manual either in the house or online. But now it's time (20:19) for another little dose of "Castle".

Footnote

1  The acute pain of which has, indeed, now receded to the chronic but mild "dull ache" that all the books seem happy to agree on. It's been quite a transition.
