2010 — 4 March: Thursday
Just back from a meal and video evening over in Winchester. Tonight we enjoyed Mozart and the whale and, to a somewhat lesser extent Moon. You can't win 'em all, can you? Time for some supplies shopping and another batch of crockpottery later today, but need a spot of sleep first. It's a mere smidgin above freezing. Brrr.
I liberated another DVD from Mike's shelves to try. It's called "P.S." and has the actress who will forever be "Mary Ann Singleton" to me. G'night at 01:28 or so. Another long day, but again a good one. The only kind worth having, if you ask me.
The little imp who lives...
... in my head, and tells me what to do (if not always how to do it) persuaded me to have a lie-in this morning. That's why, at 11:09, I'm only just enjoying my first cuppa, and am about to go out for a deliciously unhealthy greasy spoon breakfast at Loomie's (exact site of apostrophe dubious). It's sunny, the alcohol level has crept up to +5C or so, and I'm still retired (but no longer tired). Heigh ho for the open road. Toot toot.
So much time. So little accomplished. It's 13:58 and the sun is still shining. Shopping next, methinks. And I shall blag my next cuppa over with Roger and Eileen. Now where did I put my little list?
Unlike Big Bro...
... who with a great deal of help from my sister-in-law1 successfully raised to adulthood four fine examples of that even stranger species, the human female, I have no great understanding of, or insight into, the alien realm that is the female mind. (Specifically, the teenage female mind.) But I also have no objection whatsoever to a close intellectual examination, from time to time, of the female form. So when I see that my newest comedy goddess Tina Fey both scripted and appears in this...
... and it costs less than £3, I don't mind broadening my horizons with "3 Interstitials", whatever they may turn out to be. (Click the pic.)
Shopping? Check. Source of next cuppa? Check. Off we go, at 15:17 or thereabouts. Busy, busy.
I see, from my server log, that someone has been looking for "Coral Browne" stories. I think I should assemble my little horde and pop them alongside my Kai Lung quotations. A pleasant task for one evening soon, perhaps. After all, with nothing but cr*p being broadcast on TV...
Well, nothing apart from this and this! [Pause] The first of which has now been enjoyed. [Pause] "P.S." is an interesting film. But its twist is revealed explicitly in the trailer, so I'm glad I didn't watch that first. The same director made "Roger Dodger" which Christa and I found quite hard going. Next? Those "Mean Girls". It's 23:25 and counting (as it were).
